It is fun to watch the Yellow Legs wading birds as they search for food in the shallow water of the Yolo area.

Jane: I grew up outside of Ann Arbor, MI adventuring the woods and had pets including a large Garter snake, dogs, cats, flyng Squirrel, crows, and Goss Hawks. I loved the sumac and their bright colors in the fall. After graduation from high school I was an exchange student to Germany and spent 3 wonderful months gaining experience, friends, and learning about another culture. I attended Michigan State University and majored in zoology with minors in Botany, physical science, and German. Upon graduating in 1961, I became the first ever "Biologial Aid" for the United States Department of Agriculture in Plant Pathology crop rotation and soilborn diseases. After marrying I taught Biology lecture and labs, zoology, botany, and field biology labs at Ricks College from 1963-65. From 1965-69 I trained for and then became a medical technician at St Joseph Hospital in Burbank, CA. later working as a Med Tech at both Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, ID and at Fremont General in St Anthony. For a period of several years I became a part-time water tech at a civil engineering firm. I taught College Writing 111 at Ricks from 1995-2000: a fun learning time in my life.
